Explores in greater depth the principles examined in LAW204 and considers important aspects of review of administrative action not covered in that unit. Alternative extrajudicial review systems, including Ombudsmen, independent appeal tribunals and internal review systems are examined as well as the Federal and State systems of review which are studied in some detail -- especially freedom of information legislation. Topics may include subordinate legislation dealing with corruption, and administrative remedies. Various jurisdictions will be compared including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom and other countries depending on availability of resources and staff expertise.
