DESCRIPTION

Students practice carrying out the scientific process within the context of microbial ecology and physiology. Using the basic concepts learnt in General Microbiology, the central theme of the unit is to understand how microbes grow in real-life situations as diverse as food and aquatic ecosystems.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: practical reports (15%), project (20%), sem test (15%), final 3-hr theory exam (50%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 1-hr lecture, 2-hr tutorial weekly, 3-hr practical (13 wks)
