Enrolment depends on availability of a suitable project, supervisor and resources. Please note that several schools offer 3rd year research units. Only one of these research units can be taken in any single semester and students can only include two research units within the BSc.
This unit is classed as a restricted unit which means that a paper enrolment is required and unit co-ordinator approval must be obtained.

Involves a semester-long research project, supervised by a member of the Plant Science staff. It will involve 5-6 hours per week spent planning and completing an individual research project. The aim of the unit is to give students experience in individual research in an area of their own choosing. They are encouraged to speak to the unit coordinator and individual members of staff before the start of semester. Students can expect that staff will have some suggestions for projects, so that they do not need to have well developed ideas before beginning discussions. Conditional on the agreement of the supervisor, students can undertake this unit in any semester, but it must be completed within that semester.
