Introduces the fundamentals of digital image processing and computer vision, including visual perception, light and colour for image formation, image sensing and acquisition, sampling, and colour image processing. Exposure to image enhancement techniques and image restoration methods. Also exposure to image understanding methods including morphological image processing, image segmentation, representation and description, and object recognition.
