About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

Provides fundamental tools of one variable calculus that are essential in the application of mathematics in science, engineering and economics. Review of basic functions. Calculus of one variable: differentiation, differentiation techniques, implicit differentiation, upper and lower sums, integration, proper and improper Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Applications, including optimisation problems and rates of change. Complex numbers. Introduction to vectors and applications, vector spaces and dot products.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: 3-hr exam (70%), mid semester test (20%), assignments (10%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 3x1-hr lectures and1-hr tutorial
