DESCRIPTION

This unit provides further study of the empirically-based systems of behaviour-change, counselling and psychotherapy. Students must enter this unit with sound skills in basic counselling procedures. The unit emphasises skill acquisition and students are required to demonstrate their skills in relation to specific therapeutic procedures. Seminars involve formal presentations and a workshop format involving role plays and exercises.

WEIGHT:  6.25%

ASSESSMENT: Behaviour change manual (60%), development of an intervention strategy (40%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 2-hr seminar weekly (13 wks)
