This unit coversthe skills needed for the various components of the counselling process and builds on the skills acquired in Counselling Skills 1, including further exploration of the 3 Steps Egan model. Students are required to demonstrate they have acquired both basic and advanced counselling skills. The unit introduces counselling skills relevant to specific work situations such as conflict resolution, working with difficult clients, and brief interventions strategies. Multicultural counselling will also be addressed. Students are required to demonstrate their ability to apply the counsellingskills in a variety of simulated counselling situations.
