This unit aims to extend students' theoretical understanding of assessment issues, assessment practice and reporting, by providing supervised experience in administration and interpretation of individual IQ tests used by practising psychologists. An awareness of ethical issues and the role of the professional psychologist is also developed. Tests covered include the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-III (WAIS-III), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV (WISC-IV), Wechsler Pre-School and Primary Intelligence Scale-Revised (WPPSI-R), Stanford-Binet: Fourth Edition, McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities, and Bayley Scales of Infant Development. Report writing skills are developed and self evaluation in the tester role is encouraged.
