DESCRIPTION This unit is the first of three (see
KGA434 and
KGA435) in which the student engages in work leading to the production of an original thesis on an approved subject in one of the major sub-disciplines of geography and/or environmental studies. Emphasis in this first thesis component is placed on research design.

ASSESSMENT: An ungraded 5,000-word submission addressing background literature, methods and thesis design. This submission will later be modified for incorporation into your final thesis.

Entry to the Honours program in Geography and Environmental Studies
Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus. A unit offered to both attending students and by distance from the same campus is identified as having both modes of study.
