This unit investigates contemporary drawer and carcass construction as well as chair production through a combination of traditional and contemporary materials, hardware and efficient manufacturing systems. This unit provides students with a strong foundation in jig making as well as project planning, record keeping and developing working drawings to a high standard. Students also have the opportunity to further develop making skills and techniques, established in Furniture Technology 1 and 2.
