About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION
This unit examines the history and theory of architecture, interior design, furniture design and garden design in Australia, from pre-European indigenous design through to the late 20th century, in the context of international design history. Through the study of significant historical developments the unit aims to develop a richly informed approach to contemporary design.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: Essay (35%), analytical drawing and/or model-making assignment (30%) and visual test (35%).
Students not enrolled in BEnvDes may choose to submit another essay in place of the analytical drawing assignment.

TEACHING PATTERN: Two hour lecture per week (13 weeks).
Two hour tutorial, seminar or walking tour per week (13 weeks).
