This unit will be hands on, applied history, focussing on historical research methods and archival searches in genealogical research for individuals interested in researching family history (theirs or others). It will feature workshops in which participants can work on case studies or on their own projects under academic supervision. Students will develop skills in archival work and historical methodology.
It will be offered in an intensive format, with six days of face to face workshops, followed by web material to support assignments and the examination. 15 students minimum need to be enrolled in Hobart to teach the unit.
