DESCRIPTION Do we have free will? What is the mind? What is the self? Should we fear death? Is there a God? And what does it all mean, anyway? This unit asks fundamental questions about ourselves and our place in the universe. Exploring these classical debates, you will learn what metaphysics is all about, become familiar with the methods of reasoning used in philosophy, and hone your critical thinking skills. This unit complements HPA104 but can be taken independently as well.
