SPECIAL NOTE:  Offered as part of Asian Studies major. Requires Head of School or Asian Studies Coordinator permission and is normally restricted to students who have the potential for Honours level work and are doing a major in Asian Studies.

About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

Involves structured reading and writing on a topic agreed upon by the student and a supervisor and approved by the lecturer responsible for the unit. Students are expected to employ the skills and conceptual knowledge acquired in earlier units to investigate an appropriate issue or topic in Asian Studies.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: 4,000 word essay (100%) plus hurdle requirements 1) literature review and research proposal (1000 words) and 2) presentation of project.

TEACHING PATTERN:

3 x 1 hr group sessions plus individual consultations; final presentation seminar
