DESCRIPTION
The colonial project inspired countless stirring adventure stories - from boys' own tales of derring-do to fantastic fictions of lost races. In this unit we will read a selection of colonial adventure fictions and related criticisms in order to explore issues such as the constructions of empire, race and masculinity in this popular genre.
