DESCRIPTION This unit will prepare students for tertiary study in fine art and design, through an introductory program of art theory and studio based exercises. The foundations of critical thinking and writing about art and design will be introduced through a program of seminars / tutorials, with written exercises.
The foundation elements of studio based art and design will be introduced through practical exercises in two and three-dimensional media.

ASSESSMENT: Competency based written and visual assignments. Successful completion will result in an ungraded pass.
