DESCRIPTION

This unit teaches the clinical significance of the current state of analytical testing and analytical methods employed to assess the following: liver and cardiac function, carbohydrate metabolism, diabetes, lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, iron status and protein abnormalities.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Mid Semester Test (10%), Laboratory Reports (30%), Practical Exam (20%), Final 3-hr exam (40%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 2-hr lecture (13 weeks), 1-hr tutorial (13 weeks), 3-hr practical (12 weeks)
