This unit develops the students understanding of management issues relating to water supply treatment and wastewater. It includes water treatment systems, sampling procedures and water criteria, testing guidelines and standards. Waste water management, including system design, sewage treatment options and processes, with reference to standards and legislation is also covered.

ASSESSMENT: Written report (20%), disposal system design (25%), practical sampling test (15%) and final exam (40%).
