About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

The unit has two objectives: (a) to use the knowledge and experience gained while on clinical placement through the study of a variety of patient test results. This is carried out using the problem-based learning approach; and (b) to develop a holistic view of laboratory function and disease diagnosis, with consideration given to the socio-economic constraints, as well as medico-legal, accreditation and ethical aspects. The seminars focus onthese objectives by using a variety of senior medical scientists employed within the Tasmanian health system to share their expertise with the students.
