About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

The unit provides an in-depth study of the biochemistry of metabolic fuels with an emphasis on carbohydrates & lipids, associated metabolic reactions, pathways, enzymes and metabolic regulation. In the laboratory there is a revision of physiological buffers and biochemical reactions are used to illustrate the fundamentals of enzyme-catalysis.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Practicals reports (20%), Mid Semester Test & Quizzes(30%) and Final 3-hr exam (50%).

TEACHING PATTERN: 2-hr lecture (13 weeks), 2-hr tutorial (13 weeks), 3-hr practical (13 weeks)
