This unit provides an introduction to the technological aspects of instruments used in medical imaging. It covers the design and operation of the x-ray tube and peripheral devices, as well as the instrumentation involved in image production in computed radiography. The instrumentation of modalities such as mammography, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI are introduced. Practical experience in the hospitial environment involves the use and quality control of radiographic equipment.
