This unit will introduce students to the concepts of health, determinants of health, and the health care system in Australia. It will briefly introduce discussion of the effects of lifestyle, and the promotion and monitoring of health. Students will start to critically assess scientific literature and may be involved in case studies or a site visit in areas related to their program. Presentation, analysis and handling of data at levels appropriate to the students' background and undergraduate program will be introduced with relevant examples.
