About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

Provides the student with an understanding of the basic functions and interrelationships of the core laboratory departments within the clinical laboratory. At the end of this unit students will be competent to carry out a broad range of laboratory techniques, use a variety of instruments and have a good understanding of the theoretical principles on which these are based.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: continuous assessment exams (40%), literature search essay (10%), practical assignments (30%), practical exam (20%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 2 hrs lecture, 1-hr tutorial and 2 hrs practical weekly (13 wks)
