DESCRIPTION

The aim of this unit is to assist nurses with advanced knowledge and skills to identify and explore opportunities for transformative nursing practice within their individual clinical settings. The unit content examines and critiques past and present leadership theories and practices in nursing. Students are encouraged to creatively envision and develop strategies to stimulate innovation, learning and collaboration in nursing practice. Students explore how clinical research findings are applied in the context of social, economic, professional and cultural change.

WEIGHT:  25%

ASSESSMENT:

online discussion (10%); discussion paper (20%); online report (10%); interactive workshop (30%); reflective paper (30%)

TEACHING PATTERN: Combination of non-compulsory study days and online learning
