This unit revisits the primary health care approach to working with women and their families during pregnancy, birth and early parenting experiences. In this unit you will examine the diversity of the Australian family and how this influences the provision of midwifery care. Issues facing the contemporary Australian family and their impact upon the childbearing family will be explored.
