This unit provide a comprehensive introduction to epidemiology (the study of the determinants and distribution of health related states). It addresses specific aspects relating to the collection and interpretation of epidemiological data, issues of major public health importance both within Australia and overseas, and provides students with the essential skills for logical, scientific assessment of the health and medical literature.

2500 word essay (20%), journal club (5%), group presentation (10%) and individual paper (15%, word limit of 2000).
