DESCRIPTION

Examines the role of auditing in the assessment of the reliability of financial information in the context of the Australian institutional and legal environment; reviews the fundamental concepts of auditing; introduces basic audit techniques and procedures, integrating the role of computer technology in audit practice.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: continuous assessment (40%); exam (60%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 2-hr lecture, 1-hr tutorial weekly(13 wks)
