DESCRIPTION

This core accounting unit aims to provide you with an understanding of the purpose, nature and operation of the accounting information systems. The unit focuses on technology and the accounting information system and the implications of both for accountants. The implications of the interaction between technology and the accounting information system are also considered. You will gain an appreciation of the differences and similarities of two popular accounting packages through undertaking a self-directed practical comparison of the two. An important understanding to be gained from this unit is that change is ongoing.
