About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

The unit aims to develop a general overview and understanding of economics. It does this by identifying significant economic issues and problems facing Australia and an investigation of possible courses of action for businesses and other organisations. It examines the role of the Government in the economy and the effect of government actions on businesses and individuals and assists with an appreciation of the economic, social and environmental costs and benefits of commercial activities.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Internal assessment 40%; Final exam 60%.

TEACHING PATTERN:

1 x 2 hour lecture, 1 x 1 hour tutorial per week. No attendance is required for the distance mode.
Summer School (semester 3) is offered intensively over approximately three weeks.
