About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

This unit introduces students to statistical methods which are useful in the decision making process. It seeks to provide basic statistical knowledge for analysing data, and aims to develop skills in using appropriate statistical methods to make and carry out decisions which are supported by data.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Internal assessment 40%; Final exam 60%.

TEACHING PATTERN:

Weekdays (Hobart semesters 1 and 2): 1 x 2 hour lecture, 1 x 1 hour tutorial per week.
Saturdays (Hobart semester 1 and Launceston semester 1): three-hour workshop fortnightly.
Spring School (semester 5): intensive delivery over three week period.
