Examines the institutional structure of the Australian and International Financial systems. The unit covers the role of intermediaries; informational asymmetry; moral hazard and adverse selection; banking institutions; long and short term debt securities; the non-bank institutions; the managed funds system; the regulatory framework and RBA supervision. It treats risk management from an institutional perspective and analyses risk management instruments and practices.
