Offers students an understanding of macroeconomic issues by providing a solid theoretical foundation. The unit introduces students to the general equilibrium approach to modelling the macroeconomy. Recent theoretical developments in macroeconomics, including modern approaches to growth theory, are examined. Macroeconomic policy issues in Australia and elsewhere are discussed.
