Course Structure

In order to gain the award of Bachelor of Science students must gain 300% from Schedule A provided that:

  • at least 75% is from Group 1 units listed in Schedule A which must include combinations of 25% as determined by three different subject areas (students can study 50% from mathematics to satisfy two 25% requirements from two areas) as defined in Schedule B;
  • at least 100% and not more than 125% is from units in Groups 1 and 1A;
  • not more than 25% is from Group 1A units;
  • at least 75% is from Group 2 units listed in Schedule A which must include 25% from two different subject areas (students can study 50% from mathematics to satisfy this requirement) as defined in Schedule B;
  • not more than 50% is from Group 2 and Group 2A units offered by any subject area as defined in Schedule A;
  • not more than 25% is from Group 2A units;
  • at least 75% is from units listed as Groups 3 and 3A;
  • at least 50% is from units in Group 3, listed in Schedule A;
  • 50% which consists of full passes from one subject area within Group 3 and Group 3A units listed in Schedule B;
  • not more than 50% is from units listed as Group 3A; and
  • not more than 37.5% is counted from units in which terminating passes have been awarded.
    In summary, students must gain 300%, studying year-1 units to the value of between 100% and 125%; year-2 units to the value of between 75% and 125%; and year-3 units to the value of between 75% and 125%. Year-3 majors are based on first and second-year prerequisites. Certain prerequisites and core enrolments must be met. All programs must include a minimum of three Group 1 cores, two Group 2 cores and at least one Group 3 major as listed in Schedule B.
