Course Structure
Students undertaking a BAgrSc are provided with a foundation in the physical and biological sciences area during the first two years of study. In years three and four they are given some choice of subjects within the agricultural sciences or related disciplines (refer to Schedule A). If students gain sufficient merit in year three they will be invited by the Head of School to undertake an Honours program during the final year of the course.
The Agricultural Science degree is a challenging course requiring motivation and commitment from the student. In its final stages, students work closely with staff and fellow students and become familiar with the latest developments in agriculture.
Practical experience is gained through formal practical classes, excursions and vacational work experience of 15 weeks, which can be spread over the duration of the course.
The core and optional units of the course are given in Schedule A.
Students can, with the approval of the course coordinator, take units outside those listed in the BAgrSc Schedule A, amounting to a maximum of 25% unit-weighting over years 3 and 4 of the course.
