Course Structure
The four-year programme consists of eight semesters of full-time study plus a minimum period of twelve weeks of approved industrial experience. The academic content during the first two years includes a range of basic units common to engineering degree programmes. The first year is common with the Bachelor of Engineering (Ocean Engineering), Bachelor of Engineering (Marine and Offshore Systems) and Bachelor of Engineering (University of Tasmania). (Note: The first year of the Bachelor of Engineering (University of Tasmania) is offered at AMC as a feeder course into yeartwo of the Bachelor of Engineering degree programme conducted at the University of Tasmania, Hobart). Specific Naval Architecture technical units commence in the second year, while the third and fourth years concentrate on the design, development, and management of Naval Architecture structures and systems.
