Course Structure

These course rules and specifications apply to students commencing thecourse in 2010. For students who commenced prior to 2010, the applicable course rules are those from the year of commencement. i.e. students who commenced in 2006 should refer to the 2006 Handbook.

Students intending to complete the Associate of Music Studies choose 16 units comprising the following:

  • 175% (14 x 12.5% or equivalent) music units from the schedules (Group A to Group E), with a minimum of 62.5% (5 x12.5%) being level 200/300.
  • 25% (2 x 12.5% or 1 x 25%) elective units: these units may come from music, or from any school/discipline within the University, subject to approval from the appropriate School.
  • Students intending to complete the Associate Degree in Music Studies (Rock Studies) will complete a predetermined schedule as outlined below.
