Specification

1 In these specifications 'Faculty' means the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.

Entry

2 Candidates for the degree of Graduate Diploma of Agricultural Science require the approval of Faculty. Admission is open to graduates holding an appropriate degree in a science-based discipline.
3 A GradDipAgrSc student must undertake at least 50% coursework units chosen from the S3A, S3B or S3C awards and not counted towards a previous degree, the balance (making 100%) must comprise a supervised research project. Units from other awards may also be chosen if appropriate and with the approval of the dean.
4 Every candidate other than one whom faculty may exempt from this condition shall complete the requirements for the degree --
(a) Within a specified period provided that the maximum period shall not exceed 12 months (full-time) or 24 months (part-time) from the date of commencement.
(b) The dean may grant an extension of time to a candidate who has been prevented by illness or other serious cause from completing the requirements of the course within the period prescribed in these specifications.

Miscellaneous

5 The Faculty may from time to time make amendments to the schedule to these specifications.
6 These specifications shall take effect from 1 January 2001 and shall apply to all candidates for the degree, including those enrolling for the first time in that year and those enrolled subsequently.
7 The approved abbreviation for the Graduate Diploma of Agricultural Science shall be GradDipAgrSc.
