The Faculty of Arts (hereinafter called the Faculty) may accept as a candidate for the award of Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with Honours a person who |

[i] |
is qualified for admission to the degree of Bachelor of Contemporary Arts, or another approved bachelor degree, in this University or another approved tertiary institution; or has qualified for admission to a fourth year honours course in another university approved by the Faculty for this purpose; and |
|
[ii] |
has an average mark of Distinction or above in the major area of study in the final year of the three year undergraduate degree; and |
|
[iii] |
demonstrates during audition/ interview process the capacity to undertake the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with Honours; or who |
|
[iv] |
has a substantial (ie 5 years minimum) level of professional experience in arts practice where the applicant does not hold a degree and demonstrates during audition/ interview process ihe capacity to undertake the Bachelor of Contemporary Arts with Honours. |

Normally, candidates for the degree shall complete the requirements, as hereinafter prescribed, in not less than one year of full-time study and not more than two years of part-time study from the time of first enrolment, provided that the Faculty: |

may permit a candidate whose work has been interrupted by illness or |
|
[ii] |
other unavoidable cause to complete the course over a longer period. |
