Introduction
The two-year Master of Electronic Business (Specialisation) enables students to develop specialist knowledge in electronic business and one related specialist field such as International Business, Information Systems Management, and Accounting. This is of interest to those students requiring a broad two-year electronic business degree rather than the more general (and research oriented) Master of Information Systems, or the more restricted eight-unit Master of Electronic Business.
Admission & Prerequisites
The Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology may accept as a candidate for the Master of Electronic Business (Specialisation) any of the following:
1 . A person with a minimum of a three-year degree, or combination of degrees and diplomas, from an accredited university, which includes major or sub-major studies in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, commerce, information systems, computing, electronic commerce, accounting, management, marketing, economics, law);
2 . A three-year degree from an accredited university,
and at least three years of relevant professional experience for those without a major or sub-major in a relevant discipline.
For entry into all postgraduate courses, international students must provide an IELTS test score of at least Band 6 with a minimum of 6.0 on all bands or a TOEFL score of 575 with a Test of Written English score of no less than 4.5. This test must not be more than 24 months old.
Course Objectives
The aims of this program are:
- To provide professional, postgraduate level education to existing managers, and those seeking careers as electronic business managers;
- To provide management of electronic business education which is at the level of world best practice in its currency, applicability and relevance to the IS profession;
- To provide graduates of the course with knowledge, skills and understanding about;
- The relationships of electronic business and information technology to organisational needs;current management practice in the development of electronic business systems, their use and associated policy formulation and analysis;
- the value of research, critical thinking and effective communication in the management of electronic business systems.
Articulation to/from Course
Up to four units credit may be given for appropriate previous study.
