Introduction
The Honours course in Fisheries is aimed at graduates from both AMC and other tertiary institutions. It is designed to provide experience and training, beyond those obtained in an undergraduate degree program, in the skills and methods in a selected field of expertise (fisheries assessment, fisheries management, fisheries economics, seafood technology or fishing technology).
Admission & Prerequisites
The Honours degree is designed primarily for AMC graduates who have completed the three-year Bachelor of Applied Science (Fisheries) degree, with a Credit-level grading or above in their third year. Graduates from other institutions need to apply for admission to the program. Acceptance into the Honours program is not automatic and is subject to Course Committee approval.
Career Outcomes
This program prepares students for participation in a postgraduate research program, or for employment in fisheries organisations.
Articulation to/from Course
After successful completion of the program, participants have the option of applying to enrol in the Masters or Doctoral program.
