Introduction
This Honours course in Marine Resources is aimed at graduates from both AMC and other tertiary institutions. It is designed to provide extended experience and training in the skills and methods within a selected field of expertise, such as fisheries management, fisheries economics, environmental and ecosystem management, coastal zone management and aquaculture policy and management and other relevant marine policy issues.
Admission & Prerequisites
The Honours degree is designed primarily for AMC graduates who have completed the three-year Bachelor of Administration (Marine Resources) degree. Graduates who have secured their undergraduate degree at another institution will need to secure admission. AMC graduates who wish to proceed to Honours will need to obtain an overall third year pass at a Credit level. Acceptance into the Honours program will not be automatic and will be subject to Course Committee approval.
Career Outcomes
This program will prepare students for research work either for a higher degree, or working with fisheries organisations, and/or with industry.
Articulation to/from Course
After successful completion of the program, participants have the option of applying to enrol in the Masters or Doctoral program.
