Introduction
The honours program is an alternative final year of the Bachelor of Human Movement course for selected students offered by the Faculty of Education at Launceston.
Admission & Prerequisites
Students in year three of the Bachelor of Human Movement course are invited to undertake the final year as an honours student. Such students would have successfully completed all units in years 1, 2 and 3 and have attained a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.50 in their year 3 results. It should be noted that the GPA may be altered at the Dean's discretion on advice from the Head of School. Invitations are made to students in any specialisation of the Bachelor of Human Movement. Students must obtain at least a credit in the unit ESP318 Research Methods in semester 2 of year 3 to be eligible to undertake Honours.
Course Objectives
The Bachelor of Human Movement (Honours) provides students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to conduct research in the diverse fields of human movement. This course will also prepare students for future higher degree study.
Career Outcomes
The Bachelor of Human Movement is designed to provide its graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a variety of careers in areas of human movement such as outdoor education teaching, the sport and recreation industry, health and physical education teaching, the fitness industry, sport coaching, injury rehabilitation, research and writing.
Articulation to/from Course
Students from other Universities with pre-requisites acceptable to the faculty may be accepted as candidates for the bachelor of Human Movement Honours degree.
