Introduction
BEd(Hons) program will normally be completed in one full year or two years part time.
Admission & Prerequisites
This course is for teachers who normally would have at least three years teaching experience and who have completed at least a three-year teacher education qualification. The students will need to attain a credit or better in the unit
ESI464
Educational Research Methods (offered in Summer School) before being allowed to continue in the Honours program.
Course Objectives
The course provides students with the opportunity to engage in educational research at an appropriate level as preparation for future higher degree study.
Career Outcomes
For those students wishing to pursue a higher degree by research, the Honours program will provide a sound basis for future study. Those students gaining a first class honours degree or an upper second award are able to proceed to a doctoral program. Students with a lower second class award or third class honours will have access to the master degree by research program.
Articulation to/from Course
Students from other Universities with prerequisites acceptable to the Faculty may be accepted as candidates for the Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree.
