SPECIAL NOTE: Compulsory Unit in old Law degrees for students who commenced before 2013. (LAW323 Property Law A and LAW324 Property Law B were a full year program). From 2014, students in courses 63A, 63C, 63D, 63E, 63F, 63G, 63H, and all L3-coded degrees, who have not passed LAW323 and LAW324 must substitute both LAW354 AND an additional Law elective.

In 2014, this unit is only available to students who completed LAW323 in 2013 and went on international exchange in semester 2 2013. Please contact the Faculty Officer for permission to enrol.

DESCRIPTION

Property Law B follows from Property Law A, and applies the foundation principles learnt in that course to a series of discrete legal topics. These include co-ownership, leases, strata title, mortgages and securities, licences, easements and covenants. Practical legal skills incorporated in this unit include statutory interpretation, legal research and advanced oral presentation skills.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT: Oral Presentation (20%); First Semester Exam (LAW323) (40%); Second Semester Exam (LAW324) (40%)
