Harmony & Analysis A continues the study of tonal harmony. Students will further their studies in analysis and voice leading, and diatonic and chromatic chord function through works from the canon of Western music. Students will be introduced to small forms and simple contrapuntal devices through analysis and written exercises. Aural skills will be further developed in conjunction with the written materials studied, including dictation skills in rhythm, melody and harmony, identification of intervals and chords, individual and group sight-singing and rhythm reading.
