SPECIAL NOTE: 

This unit (along with its prerequisite FCP113) is available only as part of the UTAS College program and it is not open to students unless they are participating in the UTAS College program.

Students are expected to attend master classes and take the opportunity to hear and see visiting artists specific to their field of study (ie classical or contemporary).

DESCRIPTION

Continues the course of vocal, instrumental or compositional study undertaken in FCP113 Foundation Practical Study.

WEIGHT: 25%

ASSESSMENT:

Instrumental/vocal strand: End of semester recital and portfolio presentation: 100%, 17 minutes. The material presented will reflect the repertoire developed in one-to-one lessons, master classes and public performances.

Composition strand: End of semester composition and portfolio presentation: 100%. At least four works totalling 8-10 minutes of original composition as negotiated with their teacher, presented live or via recording. The entire presentation for either strand (including talking) should not exceed 20 minutes.

TEACHING PATTERN: As set by individual school/colleges equivalent to a 150 hour TQA "C" course of study. Suggested 3 timetabled lessons per week including 1 x 60 min specialist lesson.
