About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

This unit explores a systematic elaboration of ideas and skills introduced in the previous unit with additional emphases in exploring the procedural and artistic elements embedded within professional music performance practice. The work of the unit focuses on developing consistency in the preparation and performance of two concert programs.

Note: This unit will not contribute to TE/ATAR scores.

WEIGHT: 25%

ASSESSMENT:

Conductor/Tutor's assessment: 30%

On-going rehearsal effectiveness assessment (observational review): 20%

Performances: 2 public concerts of prepared repertoire: 50%

TEACHING PATTERN: Semester 1 and 2: Weekly 2 x 3 hour rehearsals/coaching sessions (12 weeks) or
Semester 3, 4 and 5: 2 x 3-day weekends of sectionals and rehearsals totaling an average 40-60 hrs
