DESCRIPTION

This unit will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to administer medication safely and efficiently in a range of clinical settings. More specifically the student will focus on assessment of the patient,understanding the legal and ethical requirements related to medication management and drug calculations.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Quiz 10%, Case Study Essay (1200 words) 40%, Exam 50%, Medications Calculations Test (100% accuracy).

TEACHING PATTERN:

One 50 minute lecture,Two 50 minute clinical laboratory sessions per week.
