DESCRIPTION

At the completion of this unit students will be able to apply mathematical concepts found in arithmetic, algebra, graphing and descriptive statistics. Students will be able to investigate and solve complex problems with application to the relevant academic disciplines in Arts, Science or Education.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT: Assignment 1: Arithmetic (7.5%) Assignment 2: Percentages, Ratios, Basic Algebra, Indicies & Graphing (15%) Assignment 3: Algebra, Statistics & Probability (15%) Assignment 4: Probability, Financial Mathematics & Problem Solving (12.5%0 Final exam (50%)

TEACHING PATTERN: Three hours lectures and one hour tutorial weekly
