Is a study of the role of myth in Greek and Roman culture through literary texts and ancient art, including an exploration of the relationship between mythological narratives and religious ritual. This unit also traces developments in the depiction of the gods and heroes as a mirror of social and political change, and addresses the reception of classical myth in later ages.
